Please note that to be eligible for a Teaching Internship, applicants must:

• be an undergraduate in their second, third or final year, or a master’s student (this includes students undertaking a 4-year integrated master’s, industry year or part-time course.)
• be interested in training to teach in England after they graduate.
• be currently studying maths, physics, chemistry, computing, design and technology, a foreign language (French, German or Spanish) or a closely realted subject.
• not have participated in the programme previously.
• be eligible to work in the UK (If you are an overseas candidate on a student visa, this programme is over the permitted 20 hours per week that you are allowed to work & you would not be eligible)

Unfortunately first year undergraduates are not eligible to take part.

Teach Maidenhead (University of Reading ITE Hub) is the foremost teacher training provider west of London. For the academic year 2025-2026 we are offering unsalaried secondary School Direct places. We are partnered with an outstanding accredited provider, The University of Reading. The university is a well regarded and established provider of high-quality training and research, ranked highly in the UK for education training, their teacher training programme has recently been graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted. Successful trainees gain PGCE, QTS and 60 Master's level credits.There are six schools in the Teach Maidenhead partnership: Furze Platt Senior School (Lead School) Altwood Church of England School, Cox Green School, Desborough College, Holyport College and Newlands Girls' School.

We will be recruiting trainees for 2025-26 and have unsalaried School Direct places for the following subjects: Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths, MFL (Spanish, French and German), Physical Education and Physics.
